The International Journal of Behavioral Development is the official journal of the International Society for the Study of Behavioural Development, which exists to promote the discovery, dissemination and application of knowledge about developmental processes at all stages of the life span – infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood and old age.
The Journal is devoted to reporting interdisciplinary research on behavioural development, including the rapidly developing fields of behavioural genetics, neuroscience and developmental psychopathology. In addition to original empirical research, the Journal also publishes theoretical and review papers, methodological papers, and other work of scientific interest that represents a significant advance in the understanding of behavioural development.
All issues of the International Journal of Behavioral Development are available on the link below (with restricted access). For full access to all the journals, you have to be a member of ISSBD and you can go through the membership site.
The ISSBD Bulletin is published twice a year, and features submissions of general concern to Society Members.
Included regularly in the ISSBD Bulletin are notices regarding the following:
The Bulletin Editors welcome submissions and input from ISSBD members. Suggestions regarding possible ideas for special sections or for new directions for the Newsletter, as well as Letters to the Editor responding to past Bulletin articles are strongly encouraged.
Each issue of the ISSBD Bulletin features a special section centered on a seminal topic in life span human development in a cultural context. The format of the special section is designed to include multiple theoretical perspectives on the issues under consideration as well as to promote scholarly exchange and debate. Comprising essays authored by leading international scholars, each issue consists of 3-5 target articles, followed by several commentaries responding to these articles. Moreover, reports will introduce labs around the world who conduct research relating to the special section. These labs are unique research environments, which apply outstanding methodologies, or form distinctive collaborations.
The special section addresses timely concerns that are of broad interest to ISSBD members and to developmental psychology in an international context.
ISSBD are very pleased to provide access to the full back archive of Bulletins (1998 to date) to all current members of ISSBD.
You are invited to contact the Editor Karina Weichold (karina.weichold@uni-jena.de) to discuss ideas concerning potential contributions to the Bulletin.
The e-newsletter was launched in August 2011 as a way to ensure ISSBD members are kept informed with up-to-the-minute information about the activities of the society (including funding, awards and elections), as well as general information about the society’s journal, IJBD, and conferences.
Recent highlights include information about upcoming conferences and funding opportunities, reviews of books published by society members, and tips on how to get published in IJBD.
