15th African Regional Workshop: Positive Parenting for Contextually Relevant Childhoods in Emerging Contexts: The Role of Intervention Research

We are excited to attend the upcoming 15th African regional workshop organized by Kyambogo University and ISSBD. This exciting workshop is scheduled to take place from 10th-12th August 2023 at Kyambogo University, Uganda. This will bring together scholars, researchers, and professionals in the field of human development. 

This year’s workshop theme is “Positive Parenting for Contextually Relevant Childhoods in Emerging Contexts: The  Role of Intervention Research.” This workshop aims to explore the role of intervention research and positive parenting practices in shaping the lives of children and adolescents in rapidly changing contexts.

Among the presentations lined up include creative parenting with technological support for children’s well-being, participatory action research, scoping review, application of implementation science, and development of culturally appropriate, valid, and reliable measures among others. 

Some distinguished scholars attending the workshop include the current ISSBD president, Prof  Tina Malti, Prof Toni Antonucci, Prof Anne Petersen, Prof Robert Serpell, and Prof Therese Tchombe. 

Although registration for the workshop has closed, we are committed to keeping ISSBD members, scholars, and policymakers informed about this event through various outlets.
